Overview
The A2A database and the archives it describes can be used for a wide range
of projects. Local historians can use it to find information about archives relating to
particular towns, villages, counties, parishes and other places in England and Wales, while family
historians can use it to find archive references to individual people who lived in England and Wales
during past ages.
University students, college students and academic researchers, working in
history or in other disciplines, can use the A2A database to find information about archives
relating to people, places or subjects they are researching. Teachers and A-level students can
make use of it to find details on primary sources (although currently A2A does not relate
directly to the National Curriculum).
A2A is also useful if you simply want to know more about the past, as the
database contains information relating to the history of England and Wales, other parts of United Kingdom,
and other countries around the world.
